The Restaurant Expansion and Attraction Program is about to give out its first city-funded grant awards.
Wadsworth Economic Development Director Matt Springer made the announcement Monday night to a City Council Committee.
Sonnets will get $18,000. “They’re investing quite a bit of money in the expansion of their restaurant,” Springer said.
Great Oaks Tavern will get $16,000 as they’re “investing over a million dollars in their expansion project.”
Unwined will get $10,500. “They’re rolling out an expanded menu, but with these funds they’re planning to pursue a kitchen hood … helping them go full service,” Springer explained.
Water Main Grille is the other recipient, receiving $5,500.
The City of Wadsworth plans to have another round of funding offered through the Restaurant Expansion and Attraction Program sometime this year.
The program is awarding a total of $50,000 between the four businesses.
