Due to the wind chill forecast, Wadsworth City Schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 30, and Thursday, January 31. All before-school, after-school and evening activities are cancelled on Wednesday, January 30. A decision on high school after-school and evening activities scheduled for Thursday, January 31, will be made late morning on Thursday, once the updated forecast is reviewed. In addition, the Wadsworth City School District Board of Education Mental Health Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 31, will be rescheduled.

Superintendent Doctor Andy Hill said “a decision to close school is never taken lightly and is best made the morning of the school day in question, as forecasts can change. That said, the forecasts for the next two (2) days have held steady for an extended period of time and show temperatures, with wind chill, reaching -35 degrees at various points of time over the next two (2) days. This type of temperature is not safe for our students to be outside waiting for buses and/or walking to school. It is our hope that announcing the closings early will assist with the inconvenience cancelling school may cause you”.

Wadsworth School District parents are reminded that there is no school for students on Friday, February 1, due to a previously planned staff professional development day.
