Medina County has more than 10,000 residents who don’t have a high school diploma and many who need to learn the English language. That’s where Project: LEARN of Medina County steps in to help.
Project:LEARN is a non-profit that offers one-on-one tutoring, GED prep, English as a second language tutoring and teaching adults 18 and older to read. The group is seeing a significant increase in the number of students seeking help with English as a second language and the General Educational Development test.
Since the GED testing procedure is now digital, it’s made it more difficult for those without computer skills. Executive director Karla Robinson says it’s easy to get up each morning when you know you’re helping others and making a difference. She also talked about the upcoming Match Wits trivia competition in April. For more information about Project: LEARN and the Match Wits competition, call (330) 723-1314.
