Friday, Jan. 3 was the last digital local publication of the Wadsworth Post.
A loyal reader reached out to us Wednesday morning asking if we received any updates past Jan. 3 and if we knew what was going on with the digital newspaper.
We did a little digging and found the answer in the last digital edition under the Publisher’s Notebook. Editor Bruce Trogdon wrote, in part:
“Sabrina and I have 3 children and 14 beautiful grandchildren, and we decided over the holidays that we wanted to spend more time in our golden years with them. But I finally made it to 50 years! Let’s put it this way – I feel that we paid our dues. This will be the last local Post edition. So to all our loyal readers through the years, I thank you from the bottom of my heart…I plan to take about a week to rest up and develop a new national news product using everything we have learned since 1975. Except I will try harder to join the modern world…”
So, the Wadsworth Post is no more (at least for now) — and it looks like they will be going toward a national news direction.
“Watch your email, maybe we can get the band back together!” Bruce said in the letter. “I will let you know when it is ready…”
