A big moment is coming for Hope Meadows, and for the community it serves.

The Wadsworth-based nonprofit is set to break ground April 23 on a major expansion project that will significantly grow its mental health and recovery services. The ceremony runs from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the organization’s Ridge Road property.

This marks the start of Phase I of a long-term master plan, one that’s been years in the making.

At the heart of the expansion is a new 3,500-square-foot Wellness Center, designed to support more than just traditional therapy. The space will include individual and group therapy rooms, along with a specialized sensory room aimed at helping individuals regulate and heal in a calmer, more supportive environment.

But that’s just part of the vision.

Hope Meadows is also building a 30,000-square-foot equestrian facility, complete with an indoor, heated riding arena. That means equine-assisted therapy programs, one of the organization’s signature services, can run year-round, regardless of the weather.

Leaders say the expansion will allow them to reach more people, including not just individuals in treatment, but also caregivers, families, veterans, first responders, and others navigating trauma, grief, and recovery.

Looking ahead, Phase II plans include outdoor therapy spaces, trails, a sensory garden, and additional areas designed to promote healing through nature.
