A 17-year-old Akron boy is in custody after shots were fired near the McDonald’s on West Tuscarawas Avenue in Barberton Monday afternoon.
Police say an officer heard gunfire around 1:30 p.m., and the suspect was taken into custody just minutes later. A gun believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered and had been reported stolen out of Akron.
No one was directly shot, but two juveniles were taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say everyone involved attends Towpath High School in Akron and the incident appears to have stemmed from an ongoing feud.
The teen faces multiple charges, including felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property.
