Authorities are continuing the search for Frank Feher, a 67-year-old Copley man who has been missing since late July, after another large-scale search over the weekend failed to turn up new clues.
Copley Police say the Ohio Special Response Team assisted with a cadaver-team search Saturday and Sunday, covering a large area that included parts of Copley, Norton, Wadsworth and Sharon Township. Police say the search yielded no results and Feher remains missing.
Feher was last seen July 27 after walking away from his home in the 2100 block of South Hametown Road in Copley. He was reported missing the following morning. Authorities have said Feher has Alzheimer’s disease and was known to frequently walk in the areas of South Hametown, Medina Line, Stimson and Reimer roads, as well as near the Route 261 and I-76 shopping area in Wadsworth.
Police say investigators in Copley and surrounding jurisdictions have continued following up on tips, but at this point there are no encouraging updates or known locations where Feher may be.
Feher is also a longtime scientist and internationally recognized chemist who previously worked at Goodyear’s Innovation Center in Akron and served as a professor and vice chair of the chemistry department at the University of California, Irvine.
His family has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his location. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Copley Police Department at 330-666-4218 or the Summit County Emergency Communications Center at 330-983-0275.
