Distracted driving among teens could be a more serious problem than previously estimated, according to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
Using in-vehicle event recorders, researchers analyzed the six seconds leading up to a crash in 1,700 videos of teen drivers.
The results showed that distraction was a factor in 58-percent of all crashes studied, four times more than what police reports suggest.
