After decades of serving Wadsworth families day and night, a beloved local funeral home is entering a thoughtful new chapter.
Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home has been acquired by Auble Funeral Homes and will now operate as Auble-Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home, continuing service at its longtime North Lyman Street location.
For families, what matters most remains the same. All pre-arranged and pre-paid funeral plans will be honored, and the commitment to compassionate, personal care continues uninterrupted.
For Dan and Belinda Rospert, the transition marks a meaningful shift after more than 40 years of being on call, often 24/7, and more than two decades owning and operating the Wadsworth funeral home. They describe it simply as time.
They will remain involved at the funeral home, but with reduced responsibilities, allowing space to care for their own family after years of caring for others. Both of their children live out of state, and much of their personal time was set aside in service to the community. Dan will continue working as manager of the Wadsworth location and will also have more time to focus on city issues important to him being on council.
The partnership brings together two deeply rooted family legacies. Auble Funeral Homes has served families since 1907, while Hilliard-Rospert has been part of Wadsworth since 1902. Together, the transition ensures that Wadsworth will continue to have a trusted, community-based funeral home, grounded in experience, integrity, and care — for generations to come.
