softballsIt’s the biggest game of the season for the Wadsworth Softball team today. If the Lady Grizzlies want to win the Suburban League Championship, they’ll need a win against Nordonia. The two teams meet this afternoon at 4:30 at Nordonia High School.

Nordonia is in first place in the SL with a 9-1 record. Wadsworth is 7-3. Both teams have four conference games to play.

The teams met earlier this season in early April and Wadsworth handed Nordonia it’s only conference loss.

“We beat them the first time in a really close game” said Wadsworth head softball coach Michelle DeAngelis. “We are definitely looking forward to playing them at their place”.

Last week’s games were a bit of a test for the Lady Grizzlies. The softball team is not only dealing with injuries, but other players are a bit under the weather. It’s putting the 15-player roster to the test.

“Our players are picking each other up” said DeAngelis.

Following today’s Nordonia game, Wadsworth will host Copley, play at Revere and wrap up the Suburban League season by hosting Tallmadge.
“This is the time of year when you want to play the best teams” said DeAngelis.
