BLUE TIP ferris wheelKids Zone was quite a hit at the Blue Tip Festival on Wednesday. Children enjoyed a giant chalk wall, bubble machine, meeting superheroes and more. Grace and Truth Church put on the fantastic display for the youth to enjoy. Some 500-plus kids came through to play in the zone.

“Part of our philosophy as a church is not to put events on for ourselves, but to make community events better. That’s why being at the Blue Tip is such a big deal,” explained Pastor Adam Barton. “We’ve gotten to be more and more a part of Kid’s Land and we really enjoy it every year getting to interact with people in the community.”

Families enjoyed walking around the park, eating elephant ears, chatting with friends and riding rides. Brian works for Amusement Plus and has been traveling for festivals over the past three years. He operates the bungee jumping experience, a popular attraction at the Blue Tip and says safety is always first.

“We check the bands frequently to make sure they don’t snap. If we find bad ones, we automatically change them out.”

Screams, laughter and shrieks could be heard all across Memorial Park as festival-goers enjoyed big-kid and kiddie rides alike.

Day three of Wadsworth’s Blue Tip Festival is from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Thursday. Majestic, a Journey tribute band, performs in the pavilion. Friday evening is the MatchStick 5K/10K race.
