Downtown Wadsworth selects Jack Ollom as full-time executive director – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

Downtown WadsworthThe Downtown Wadsworth, Inc. Board of Directors has chosen Jack Ollom as their full-time executive director.

Ollom, a Wadsworth resident, was selected after an extensive search process that took over two months to complete and included many local and out-of-state qualified applicants.

For the past 11 years, Ollom has served as the part-time executive director of Downtown Wadsworth, Inc. During this time he has overseen the growth of the organization, which had a negative cash balance, few members, and no committees — to an organization that is debt-free with over 100 members and active committees.

During his tenure, Ollom has worked closely with business owners, building owners, representatives of the City of Wadsworth, and the Wadsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. In his role, he has focused primarily on planning, revitalization, promotional issues, projects, and events.

As Ollom transitions into the full-time executive director position, he will work closely with the Board of Directors to fully align the organization with the principles of the Heritage Ohio Main Street Program. Ollom’s responsibilities will expand to integrate the four Main Street guiding principles: design, economic vitality, organization, and promotions.

Ollom sees many opportunities for the Wadsworth community as it transitions to a Main Street Organization. “Continuing to combine our history with our future will set the bar for generations to come.”

According to the Main Street Program, its approach is “the foundation for local initiatives to revitalize their community by leveraging local assets—from cultural or architectural heritage to local enterprises and community pride.”

“We are excited to have Jack continue with us in the role of executive director,” said Andrew Hill, President of the Downtown Wadsworth, Inc. Board of Directors. “We believe that he has the right skill set and vision to move our organization and community forward in a positive direction by aligning it with the Main Street principles. We are excited for the future of our community and the work that Jack, our organization, and our many community partners will continue to do to build upon the strong history and traditions of our great city.”
