Vehicle recalls hit a new high in 2014 with 56 million notices issued, the most since 1999. Possibly more disturbing is that 1 in 6 vehicles never got fixed.
A free, new app is out from Carfax and it will notify you if your vehicle is on a recall list and remind you to get it fixed should your car be in the 56 million statistic.
You can download the app on any smart device, then enter your license plate and state. The app cross references your registered VIN number with any open recall, tells you what the recall is and how you can get it repaired.
The app can also track your mileage, oil changes and other maintenance, plus let you know when your registration is set to expire so you don’t end up paying a late fee.
