You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) is once again hosting a FREE Community Ice Cream Social on Thursday, June 20 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Medina County Achievement Center, 4691 Windfall Road in Medina.
Due to high temperatures, the decision was made to move the annual Ice Cream Social event to the Medina County Achievement Center (4691 Windfall Rd., Medina).
The site of chocolate and caramel toppings dribbling down scoops of fresh vanilla ice cream and topped off with a rainbow of sprinkles will once again signal the beginning of this fun annual event. All ages are invited to come and make an ice cream sundae, select their toppings and enjoy an evening of fun family entertainment including carnival games, crafts, activities, character meet-and-greets, contests and prizes.
This event is designed to generate community awareness and promote inclusion of people with disabilities. Studies have shown that when individuals with disabilities are included in community activities such as these, they develop the confidence they often need to achieve higher life goals. It also gives citizens of Medina County the opportunity to become more aware of what individuals with disabilities can do.
This event is made possible entirely through private donations and a generous partnership with SmithFoods who is providing the ice cream. For more information, visit www.mcbdd.org or contact MCBDD at 330-725-7751.
