WHS FOOTBALL 2015 ASHLAND-1Wadsworth High School is looking for a new head varsity football coach.

Greg Dennison has announced that he is stepping down as head football coach after 21 seasons at the helm. During his tenure, the Grizzlies compiled a record of 148 wins and 77 losses. In 1996, Dennison led Wadsworth to their first undefeated season in 30 years as the Grizzlies went 10-0 in the regular season and advanced to the OHSAA playoffs in Division II.

Before coaching at Wadsworth, Dennison led the Norton Panthers for two seasons, posting an 11-9 record. His record as a head high school football coach is 159 wins and 86 losses.

Wadsworth High School Principal Steve Moore said Coach Dennison made the announcement on Thursday.
Dennison was named as Suburban League Coach of the Year in 1996, 2007 and 2009. He was also selected as Medina County Coach of the Year in 1996 and in 2011.

During Dennison’s time with the Grizzlies, they advanced to the OHSAA playoffs nine times and won six games.

Moore said that Dennison will continue to teach Algebra at Wadsworth High School.
