There’s good news to share from Wadsworth this holiday season.
The Salvation Army reports it has surpassed its $58,000 fundraising goal for the Red Kettle Campaign, thanks to strong community support over the weekend. The Red Kettle Campaign officially ends at 5PM on Christmas Eve.
That generosity showed up in another big way as well. Donations through the Angel Tree at the Wadsworth Walmart jumped significantly this year. Just 25 tags were redeemed last holiday season, but that number climbed to 125 this year, with younger donors helping drive the increase.
And the spirit of giving didn’t stop there. The Medina County Veterans Service Commission also stepped in to help families in need, distributing more than 200 jugs of laundry detergent and other personal items through its Tank the Truck program at a Wadsworth food giveaway.
