The Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies basketball team has now won two games in a row as they defeated the North Royalton Lady Bears 54-44 at North Royalton High School Saturday afternoon.
Wadsworth had a 13-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Grizzlies extended the lead to 28-17 at halftime.
Wadsworth pushed the lead to 13 points at the end of the third quarter at 43-30.
The Lady Bears made a bit of a rally in the fourth quarter, outscoring Wadsworth 14-11. But, they couldn’t catch up.
The Lady Grizzlies had two players in double figures. Junior forward Peyton Banks had 20 points. Maria Busson added 10.
North Royalton was led by senior Gabby White with 24 points. White is a U.S. Military Academy at West Point recruit.
Wadsworth is now 2-1 in the Suburban League and 2-2 overall.
