The Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies started the 2019-2020 season off in fine fashion as they defeated the Norton Lady Panthers 45-26 Friday night at Norton High School.

Wadsworth scored the first nine points of the game and were never challenged. The Lady Grizzlies led 22-14 at halftime and 35-21 at the end of three quarters.

The difference in the game was Wadsworth’s shooting from long distance. The Lady Grizzlies sank 8 three-point baskets. Norton only had one three-pointer. Maggie Long sank four baskets from beyond the arc. Taylor Leatherman had 2, Ciena Matheny and Ky’Sonna Won each had one long-range basket.

Long led the Lady Grizzlies with 17 points. Leatherman added 13.

Wadsworth’s next game is Saturday November 30th at home against Hudson.
