The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) is inviting job seekers to explore a career with purpose at its upcoming Direct Support Professional (DSP) Job Fair on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 12–3 p.m. at the Medina County Achievement Center, 4691 Windfall Road, Medina.
Direct Support Professionals play a critical role in helping people with developmental differences live more independently. Their work may include assisting with daily activities like housekeeping and financial management, providing transportation to doctor’s appointments or community events, and helping individuals develop important social skills.
At the job fair, attendees will meet face-to-face with multiple local organizations currently hiring DSPs. Some may even conduct on-the-spot interviews. Candidates should bring a photo ID and copies of their resume. A high school diploma or GED is required, but no prior experience or college degree is necessary. Many positions offer flexible schedules, training, and opportunities for long-term career growth.
“DSPs are vital to the success of people with developmental differences,” said Stacey Maleckar, MCBDD Superintendent. “If someone is looking for a meaningful career with a flexible schedule, casual work environment, and new and fun experiences every day, they should come explore rewarding opportunities in the developmental disabilities field. They just might find a career perfect for them!”
