Your environment may play an important role in helping you stay healthy and a new report reveals the places doing the best job for their residents. Medina County is ranked #70 out of 2,800 communities for healthiest by U.S. News and World Report.
This is the publication’s sixth annual Healthiest Communities ranking. They compared 2,800 communities on 92 health-related metrics in 10 categories, including Economy, Education, Population Health, Housing and Public Safety.
The 2024 healthiest community is Falls Church, Virginia. It’s number one for Education, fourth in Population Health and sixth for Economy. Falls Church beats out Los Alamos County, New Mexico, which held the title in the three previous rankings, and comes in second this year.
The states with the highest average overall community-level scores are Rhode Island, Iowa and New Hampshire, while the states with the lowest average scores are Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas.
