The start date of the State Route 94 widening project in Wadsworth is being delayed. Work was supposed to begin in mid-July, but now it’s unknown when it will start.
The Ohio Department of Transportation rejected two bids from contractors. ODOT was expecting bids for the massive widening project to be in the area of $10 million. Instead, bids came in at more than $12 million.
Wadsworth Service Director Robert Patrick is disappointed by the news and said city officials plan to sit down with ODOT in the coming days to draw up new bid specifications. Patrick is hopeful the project will begin sometime this year.
