kids gardeningSpring is finally here and that means it’s time to get in the garden. The OSU Master Gardener Volunteers Annual Spring Seminar will soon kick off for kids ages 6-12. This year’s theme will be container projects: a pizza box and either a dinosaur or fairy box.

Parents can bring their kids to this year’s “Play Date in the Dirt” program for some interactive, hands-on gardening May 3 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Krabill Park Shelter in Medina. Kids will get containers to plant in, seeds, a plant, and a treasure rock all to take and grow at home.

Both parents and children can participate in the nature-themed scavenger hunt and get garden tips for their home gardens. The program is an indoor and outdoor event.

Space is limited so registration is required along with a $5 payment per child. Registration forms can be found online at medina.osu.edu under events. Registration deadline is April 20.
