Wadsworth dog park organizers are getting closer and closer to announcing a grand opening! Wadsworth’s first dog park will be located inside Valley View Park. Mother Nature stalled the project but things have been moving full steam ahead in the past week or two.
All of the fencing is up, along with the waste stations and benches. It’s time now for the cement work.
“Two concrete pads for the fountains have been poured by the city,” organizer Roni Leatherman said. “The fountains will be installed today (Friday) or this weekend. The concrete pad to the dog park entrance is being poured this weekend as well.”
After that, they will install the water fountains and wait for the arrival of entrance gates that are on back order.
Memorial bricks are still available to purchase for $55-$60 and will be for sale indefinitely.
“We would like the path to go from the parking lot to the dog park, just filled with hundreds of bricks,” Leatherman explained.
Leatherman said the ribbon cutting announcement will be made first on Wadsworth Community Radio on July 27 during the morning show with Tom and Tina!
