Recycling program ready to begin in Medina County – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

2015-08-19 09.34.33The Medina County Solid Waste District will start its single-stream recycling drop-off bin program on Thursday August 20th.

The District has entered into a contract with the Kimble Companies out of Dover to service the bins that are placed at 54 locations throughout Medina County.

In the city of Wadsworth, collection bins are placed at five locations, at the City’s Transfer Station, at the Charles Parsons School Administration Building on Broad Street, Franklin Elementary School, Weatherstone Park and Friedt Park.

The Solid Waste District is asking that if you plan to place your plastic containers, paper, jars and cans in the bins, please make sure that they loose, and NOT in a bag. The District is also asking that if the bin that you are at is full of recyclable materials to proceed to the next closest bin and not to leave the recyclables on the ground.

Among the items that you cannot put into the bins include garbage, food, yard waste, plastic bags, electronics, styrofoam and ceramics or dishes, light bulbs or syringes.
