The Wadsworth Rite Aid on High Street will close permanently on Sept. 22, according to a corporate spokesperson via email. The Wadsworth closure is part of a larger chain closure affecting hundreds of stores across multiple states.
Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2023. Since that time, 800 stores have closed nationwide.
As of last week, the company added 164 closures of Ohio Rite Aid locations, including the Wadsworth location. Locally, the Rite Aid’s in Medina and Brunswick will also close, along with three in Akron and locations in Cuyahoga Falls, Fairlawn and Tallmadge.
