Wadsworth residents will see and hear more about road construction projects in the city this week.
Wadsworth Service Director Robert Patrick says that the Municipal Road Improvement program will get underway this week.
13 streets in Wadsworth will be fixed up this spring/summer through the program. The program is being paid for through a one-tenth of one-percent increase in the municipal income tax that voters approved back in 2011.
“Woodland Avenue will be repaired. Simcox will be fixed-up. During the winter, we replaced a water line on Simcox” said Patrick. Other streets scheduled to be repaired will be East and West Reimer and College Street.
The city went out for bids during January and February of this year. They hoped to save some money by going out for bids early.
Also this week, the city will have a pre-construction meeting with contractors who are handling the Interstate 76/State Route 94 project.
At meetings like this, the city and contractors will lay out how they see project moving forward. Items like when the project will start, what side of the street the project will begin on, if there will be night work or not are among topics that will be discussed.
The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2017. The cost of the 76/94 project is just over $12 million.
