A railroad crossing in the city of Wadsworth has been targeted for a safety upgrade in 2015. The Medina County Commissioners Office has confirmed that the Railroad Safety Task Force received funding to improve the crossing on Silvercreek Road.
The estimated cost of the project is $175,000.
The cost of installing warning lights and gates at the Silvercreek Crossing is typically shared by the Public Utilities Commission, the railroad and the local highway traffic department.
The Ohio Rail Development Commission will provide the necessary funding for the local dollars.
