Akron Zoo’s annual summer fundraiser, Summer Safari, will be held on Friday, August 7th from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Guests will enjoy animal encounters, live music, drinks and food provided by local restaurants and caterers. Summer Safari is the Akron Zoo’s largest fundraiser of the year having raised over $940,000 for animals and conservation programs in its nine years.
During the event the entire zoo will be open along with a silent auction and raffle. The silent auction will feature artwork created by the Akron Zoo’s very own animal artists and includes original one-of-a-kind pieces by the snow leopard cubs, tigers, penguins and octopus.
The raffle prizes include a $1,000 Visa gift card, a zookeeper for a day, a kid’s package including two tickets on the Polar Express, a birthday party at Sky Zone and a wagon full of toys and games.
Other raffle prizes include a BMW rental for a weekend along with a show at Playhouse Square and dinner in Cleveland and a tailgate package complete with grilling accessories, beer and four tickets to the Cleveland Browns Aug. 20 preseason game.
All donations help the Akron Zoo continue their tradition of caring for more than 700 animals, providing educational and community programs, and participating in global conservation efforts.
