Sue Durante, The Bubble LadyHer love for bubbles began when her kids were young. Sue Durante – The Bubble Lady – realized her children loved the soapy suds and decided to make a career out of it over the past 20 years.

During Sue’s shows, you will see a bubble bounce off a trampoline, square bubbles, bubbles that multiply and a grand finale where she puts a person inside a bubble for the indoor show.

“For other events, I do sometimes set up a bubble station where people can dip in and make big bubbles outside,” Sue said.

Hula hoops and a simple cotton string tied in a circle can work to make huge bubbles at home. If using the string, dip the string in bubble solution and let the wind take it.

“I use dishsoap and water for the solution,” Sue said. “I like to use a good name brand dish soap because it has glycerin in it. I always say one gallon of water to one cup of soap.” The Bubble Lady said next day bubbles are actually better than day of.

Make sure you save the solution when you’re done. “Don’t throw the solution away because it does get better.”

What is the number one thing The Bubble Lady hears after her show? “People always say I never knew you could do that!”

Sue’s business, Zap Entertainment, provides a variety of shows for families, including magicians, jugglers, musical shows, balloon artist, face painting, petting zoo and pony rides.

“I go all over the place. That’s one of the best things about my job,” Sue said. “I go to all the libraries which is great because they’re great places to visit. The staff is always wonderful to you and it’s just a nice environment.”

The Bubble Lady will pop into the Wadsworth Public Library on July 15 at 1 p.m. You can pick up a free ticket in the Children’s Department one week before Sue’s performance (while supplies last). Sue will also be at the Medina County Library on July 27 at 11 a.m. for a performance.
