The Wadsworth Wrestling finished off the dual meet season in fine fashion Thursday night as they beat Mayfield 71-7 at the Wadsworth High School Gym.
It was also Senior night as seniors Brandon Baughman, Brock Swartzbaugh, Joey Baughman, Noah Baughman, Kyle Green and Nick Palecek and their parents were honored before the match.
Of the 14 matches that were wrestled, The Grizzlies only lost two, Colt Owens at 106 and Matt McMillen at 120.
The Grizzlies got victories from Brandon Baughman at 145 with a technical fall and Kyle Green at 285 with a forfeit victory.
The rest of the Wadsworth victories were attained by pin, Brock Swartzbaugh at 113, Noah Baughman at 126, Luke Baughman at 132, Connor Clark 138, Cody Surratt 152, Joey Baughman 160, Alex Jones 170, Evan Goebel 182, Chris Suarez 195 and Clay McComas 220.
Wadsworth end the year with a dual meet record of 13-1. The only dual meet loss was to St. Edward in the regional finals of the State Dual Meet championship.
The Grizzlies won their 24th consecutive Suburban League Championship. Plus, the Grizzlies won the North Canton Tournament and the Grizzly Invitational.
Next up for the Wadsworth Wrestling Team will be the Sectional Tournament which will be contested at the Wadsworth High School Gymnasium February 19th and 20th.
