Wadsworth Grizzly pawThe Wadsworth Boys and Girls Varsity Soccer Teams have seen their seasons come to an end at the hands of the same opponent.

On Wednesday night, the Medina Boys team, seeded number one in the Brunswick District, thrashed Wadsworth 8-0. The Grizzlies were seeded fifth in the district. Wadsworth was able to play with Medina for the first 30-to-35 minutes of the match, trailing 1-0 at that point. Just before halftime, Medina scored twice taking a 3-0 lead at the break.

When Wadsworth tried to open up the offense in the second half, Medina took advantage, scoring five times. In the match, Medina had 9 shots on goal, scoring on 8. The Bees will play Copley for the District Title on Saturday.

Wadsworth ends the season with a record of 12-5-1.

On Tuesday night, the Medina Girls, also seeded first in the Brunswick District and second in the state in Division One, shutout the Lady Grizzlies 4-0.

That defeat ended a post-season run for the Wadsworth Girls Soccer team. The Lady Grizzlies defeated Highland 2-1 in overtime and Green 1-0 before the Medina Game. Wadsworth was seeded 7th in the Brunswick District.

On the season, the Wadsworth Girls Soccer team finished with a record of 5-11-3.
