WHS boys senior track team SLIDERThe Ohio High School Athletic Association Tournaments loom ahead for a number of Wadsworth High School Athletic teams. Some teams are wrapping up their regular seasons next week.

Here’s a quick peek at what Wadsworth teams have to look forward to.

BASEBALL – On Monday, the Suburban League champion Grizzlies will play league foe Tallmadge in a game at the Blue Devils home field. First pitch will be at 4:30. Wadsworth is 12-0 in the Suburban League with two games left to play. On Wednesday, Wadsworth will host a sectional tournament game at 4:30. Their opponent will be the winner of the Ellet/Copley game which will be played on Tuesday. On Friday the 15th, Wadsworth will host Tallmadge in a 4:30 game. That contest will serve as “Senior Day” for the baseball team.

SOFTBALL – On Monday, the Lady Grizzlies will host Tallmadge in their final Suburban League contest. First pitch at 4:30. On Friday May 15th, Wadsworth will host a sectional tournament game. The Lady Grizzlies will face the winner of the Ellet/Hudson game, which will be played on Thursday May 14th.

BOYS TENNIS: The sectional tournament starts on Tuesday. The Medina Sectional will be contested at the Springside Racquet and Tennis Club.

TRACK – Both the boys and girls teams will compete in the Suburban League Track Championships, which will be contested at Nordonia High School on Friday May 15th. The meet will begin at 4 o’clock. The district track meet will take place on Wednesday May 20th.

LACROSSE- The Boys Lacross team has games this week at home against Holy Name (5/12) @ 7:00p , at Brunswick (5/14) and at home against Cleveland Heights (5/16) @ 12:30p. Home games are played at Art Wright Stadium.
