I got to do something AMAZING this week at one of my favorite places! I got to feed the grizzly bears at the Akron Zoo!
Zoo marketing director Elena Bell and her team gave me an awesome behind-the-scenes tour and helped me check a bucket list dream off my list!
Cheyenne and Jackson were the sweetest, most gentle apple eaters! I think Cheyenne even tried to smile in our photo!
I learned so much about what they eat (did you know they eat horse meat?), how much they eat and how it increases and decreases based on the time of year.

One thing I thought was so funny was this giant box TV that was donated to the zoo that they use for enrichment. They will wheel it out for the bears to watch inside on occasion. I asked what they watch and was told it’s usually Disney movies, as that’s what is most donated. There are some Johnny Carson animal episodes they also watch, but of course, don’t follow the plot.
