Bowler Shannon Jones is keeping the Wadsworth Grizzly State Championship hope alive. Jones finished third in district’s Sunday in Lorain, shooting a 557. Jones will compete for the State Title on March 13 in Columbus.

Lady Grizzly bowlersLady Grizzly Ryen Patterson also competed in districts, but her 485 series knocked her out of going to State.

The Lady Grizzlies finished the regular season with a 12-3 record, the best in school history. It was a heartbreaker for the team when they learned they missed heading to districts by 4 pins. They finished runner-up in the Summit County Invitational Christmas Tournament and finished 5th in sectionals.

The entire boys bowling team competed Sunday and shot a combined score of 3,206, but it wasn’t enough to advance them.

“It was a great season for the boys, and this was the first time Wadsworth boys had ever made it to districts,” coach George Steele said.

Steele is excited about Jones and her moving on to the State level of competition, thanking everyone for their continued support.
