Wadsworth Grizzly pawThe Wadsworth Boys Basketball team ended their five-game losing streak as they defeated Twinsburg 63-47 in a contest played Thursday night at Wadsworth High School.

Twinsburg had a three-point lead at the end of the first quarter 11-8. The Grizzlies got things rolling in the second quarter, outscoring the Tigers by 12 points to take a 26-17 lead at halftime.

The Tigers got themselves back in the game, outscoring Wadsworth 16-13 in the third quarter. After 24 minutes of play, Wadsworth had a 39-33 lead.

It was all Grizzlies in the fourth quarter as Wadsworth outscored Twinsburg 24-14 to win the game by 16.

Christian Szalay led Wadsworth with 17 points. Tony Hewitt added 16. Jake Justice and Ryan Storad finished with 10 points apiece.

The Grizzlies record is now 3-8 in the Suburban League and 4-14 overall. Twinsburg falls to 2-9 in the Suburban League and 5-13 overall.

Wadsworth is back in action Tuesday night February 9th when they take on Kent Roosevelt at the Wadsworth High School Gymnasium.
