On Sunday, Sept. 7, the Wadsworth Fire Department responded to a commercial fire at 9774 Trease Road, home of Michael Day Enterprises. Crews arrived around 7:49 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof at the rear of the building. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Due to the size of the fire, multiple alarms were called in to bring additional manpower. Firefighters remained on scene for hours, working to fully extinguish the blaze.

Michael Day Enterprises specializes in engineering thermoplastic compounds.

The fire is now under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Medina County Fire Investigation Unit.

“Our family would sincerely like to thank the fire departments who masterfully controlled this fire. They did a terrific job and we are grateful. Although the future remains uncertain, we believe God has a plan in mind for us,” said Jana Day on social media, who owns the building.

Chief Robert Lindner and the Wadsworth Fire Department extended their gratitude to the many mutual aid departments that responded, including Chippewa Township, Rittman, Norton, Copley, Seville, Sterling, Sharon Township, Granger, Westfield, Barberton, Lodi, Lafayette Township, Medina, Valley City, as well as the Ohio EPA, Medina County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
