Trick-or-treat in Wadsworth has always been on Halloween (Oct. 31), but this year, trick-or-treat will be Sat., Oct. 28 from 6-8 p.m.

Mayor Robin Laubaugh says two Central Intermediate School students petitioned for trick-or-treat to be changed.

“A community-wide survey to gather everyone’s opinion on the matter was conducted late last year with the majority of the responses favoring moving it to the Saturday on or before October 31st.”

In their petition, the CIS students cited having trick-or-treat on a weekend would be better for teachers and not conflict with students who have after school activities or sports practices during the week.
