WADSWORTH TENNIS SIGNIt was an impressive performance by the Wadsworth Girls tennis team on Monday. The team captured their second straight win, 5-0 over Stow-Munroe Falls High School. It was their first match and first victory for the Lady Grizzlies in the new Suburban League.

The Wadsworth Varsity Girls Tennis team is now 2-1 on the season. The team opened the season with a 3-2 win over Rocky River, then suffered a 5-0 loss to Green before Monday’s match.

The Lady Grizzlies got strong play from all three singles players and both doubles teams.

In singles, Rylee O’Brien and Annie Nicholas both won their two sets at love. Selena Laikos won her match at one-and-one.

In Doubles, Hannah Jarolim and Sarah Elfers won their sets at love. Molly Adams and Brenna Murphy won their sets at love-and-one.

The next action for the Girl’s tennis team will be on Wednesday afternoon at Cuyahoga Falls. Coming up on Thursday and Saturday will be the Lakewood Doubles Tournament to be played at the Lakewood Stadium Tennis Courts.
