wadstrackThe Wadsworth boys track team will send a third athlete to the OHSAA State Division One Boys Track Meet in Columbus June 5 and 6.

Gabe Szalay joins Nate Bergan and Danny Malkowski in representing the Grizzlies at the State Meet. Szalay qualified for the State Meet by finishing fourth in the 1,600 at the Boys Division One meet at Austintown-Fitch. That meet wrapped up on Friday.

In the team competition, Wadsworth finished 7th with 31 points. The host school, Austintown-Fitch, finished 1st with 55.5 points. Stow-Munroe Falls was 2nd, Solon finished 3rd. GlenOak was 4th, Massillon 5th and Copley was 6th.

Bergan qualified for the State Meet by finishing third in the discus and Malkowski finished fourth in the Pole Vault. Both Bergan and Malkowski finished their events last Wednesday.

Last year. The Wadsworth boys track team only sent one athlete to Columbus for the state meet. That was Hunter Williams in the 100 and 220.
