WCR Morning Show Host Matt Anthony interviews Grizzly wrestlers in state tournament.

the first day of competition in the Div. I state high school wrestling championships, all five Grizzly wrestlers grappled their way to a victory. After day one, Wadsworth is all alone in third place in the team standings. Just ahead of Wadsworth is Elyria with 19 points, followed by St. Edward with 15.5.

The Grizzlies have 14.5 points. Massillon Perry is fourth and Brunswick is tied for fifth.

In the individual matches, Noah Baughman (113) won by a technical fall over Zach Furnas of Olentangy Liberty 21-6. Connor Gray (120) won by decision over Gage Branson of Cincinnati Glen Este 8-5. Joey Baughman (145) won by decision over Mike Connick of Chardon 4-3. Shane Mast (160) won by a majority decision over Andrew Taylor of Cincinnati Elder 10-1. And finally at 170, Tim Knipl pinned Eric Murdoch of Twinsburg.

Day two of the state wrestling championships takes place in Columbus at Ohio State University Friday. The championship matches take place on Saturday.
