volleyballThe Suburban League seasons are well underway this fall. The Wadsworth Volleyball and Tennis Varsity teams are continuing their strong play in the revamped SL.

First to Volleyball. The Lady Grizzlies defeated Hudson last night 2-0. The individual game scores were 25-11, 25-11 and 25-17. Senior Jodi Johnson continued her strong play at the net by registering 18 kills and on the back line with 19 digs.

Wadsworth is now 4-1 in the Suburban League and 7-1 overall. The only loss the volleyball team has suffered is to league opponent North Royalton. The Lady Grizzlies will get a good indication of their strength on the volleyball court when they participate in the Magnificat Showcase Tournament on Saturday.

Switching to the Tennis court. In a League match-up, Wadsworth defeated Revere 4-1 Thursday afternoon. The Lady Grizzlies won two of three singles matches and captured both doubles matches.

Wadsworth is 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the Suburban League. Their only losses have been to Green and to Suburban League foe Hudson.

In other Grizzly sports action, the Boys Varsity soccer team and North Canton Hoover played to a scoreless tie at Art Wright Stadfium. Wadsworth goalkeeper, senior Dan Hier, had 6 saves for the Grizzlies. The Boys soccer team is now 4-2-1.

Finally, on the golf course, Wadsworth had both a positive and a negative result. At the Rawiga Country Club Course in Seville, Wadsworth defeated Tallmadge 183-245. Secilia Ho led the way for the Lady Grizzlies with a 41. Junior Meggie Flannigan and senior Abby Luangraj each shot a 46,

At Barberton-Brookside, Brecksville defeated Wadsworth 167-168. Senior Jake Brumbaugh had the low score for Wadsworth with a 39. Junior A.J. Arch had a 41.
