The season came to an end for the Grizzlies Friday night as Olmsted Falls edged by Wadsworth 21-20 in the Region 2, Division 6 playoffs played at Brunswick High School.

A two-yard touchdown run by Luke Lombardo of Olmsted Falls with 3:28 to go in the fourth quarter tied the game at 20. Jake Politowski converted the extra point to give the Bulldogs the lead for good.

Wadsworth’s Joey Baughman scored two touchdowns on the ground and tossed a 22-yard score to Mitchell Blackburn. Joey ran for 174 yards and passed for 235 yards, but it wasn’t enough.

Wadsworth turned it over three times and committed seven penalties. A bad snap on an extra point try also cost Wadsworth.

The Grizzlies end the season with an 11-1 record. Wadsworth finished the year as champion of the Suburban League and returned to the playoffs after a two-year absence.

Congratulations to head coach Justin Todd and the team for a successful season.
