There was an unannounced soft-lockdown Wednesday morning at Wadsworth High School.

The purpose of the lockdown was to ensure that the High School Building is drug free and everyone inside is safe.

The Wadsworth Police Department along with Montville Police, the Medina County Drug Task Force and the Medina County Sheriff’s Department used their K-9 officers and searched the building and cars in the parking lots.

Wadsworth High School Principal Steve Moore says he’s pleased to report to the community that authorities did not find any drugs either in the building or in cars in the parking lots. Moore says he shared this information with the students and staff at Wadsworth High School.

A soft-lockdown means the students are kept in their classrooms while the teachers continued to teach.
