Celebrate with the Lady Grizzlies Sunday – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

WADSWORTH LADY GRIZZLIES 2016 STATE CHAMP FANSThe city of Wadsworth is invited to a party Sunday afternoon at the Gazebo in Downtown.

The reason for the celebration is to salute the 2016 Wadsworth Girls Varsity basketball team, State Champions in Division One.

Saturday night, the Lady Grizzlies defeated Mason 60-51 to capture their first state championship since 1997.

The celebration will begin at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon.

On Friday night it was a ‘sea of red’ inside the Schottenstein Center. On Saturday night it was a ‘sea of red and white’ as fans made the trip from Medina County to Columbus to watch the Lady Grizzlies play.

It was well worth the drive.

Fans stayed for the post-game trophy presentation, to cheer Head Coach Andrew Booth, the three seniors, Laurel Palitto, Jenna Johnson and Jodi Johnson and every player that had a Wadsworth Uniform on.

The celebration will be held rain or shine. So, if you can take some time out of your Busy Sunday, join us at the Gazebo to honor the Lady Grizzlies.
