Close to the time when students were to be dismissed, the administration at the Wadsworth Middle School learned of a threat that was made by a student. While not clear, the threat involved a bus and the time of 2:30 pm Monday afternoon.

The Middle School Administration quickly involved the Wadsworth Police Department. Working together, the school district and the police were able to isolate the bus, hold both middle and high school students away from the vehicle while an investigation took place.

Authorities were able to locate the student who made the perceived threat. School officials say the student admitted to making the threat and said it was meant as a joke. The middle and high school students were placed on an alternate bus and were sent home.

The name of the student who made the perceived threat has not been released. Due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, the nature of the threat has not been released.

Wadsworth Schools kept parents and others informed on what was happening through phone messages and social media.
