The National Weather Service in Cleveland confirmed Wednesday a trio of tornadoes touched down in northeastern Ohio Tuesday night into Wednesday.
The first, an EF-1 tornado, touched down in Grafton (Lorain County) before moving into the City of Medina, where extensive damage to trees, homes and power lines could be seen for blocks. The tornado came through around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday and brought winds between 86-110 miles per hour.
The second tornado, an EF-0, hit East Sparta in Stark County, where it took down trees and caused minor to moderate roof damage. Wind speeds between 65-85 miles per hour were felt.
The final tornado, another EF-1, touched down in Barberton before moving toward Green. It packed powerful winds, 90 mph, and caused damage to trees, roofs and homes.
