On the baseball diamond, the Grizzlies completed a two-game sweep of Stow-Munroe Falls by defeating the Bulldogs 8-4.
Early this season, Wadsworth is getting good pitching and timely hitting as they improved their record to 3-0, 2-0 in the Suburban League.
Senior Cameron Deemer pitched into the sixth inning to get the win. Deemer allowed six hits, two earned runs while walking one and striking out four.
Wadsworth took the lead by scoring three runs in the third inning. The Grizzlies added to the lead by scoring two in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
Wadsworth senior Ross Thompson led the offense with three singles, a run scored and an RBI. Juniors AJ Robinson, Craig Palidar and Steve Ahern each had two singles. Senior Chris Byers had a single and three runs batted in. Last year, Wadsworth had 12 seniors in registering a 27-1 record.
This year, the Grizzlies have only five seniors and are playing with the same consistency as in 2015.
Elsewhere in Grizzlies sports, the Wadsworth Boys Tennis Team is back in the victory column. The Grizzlies defeated Strongsville 5-0.
In Boys Track, Wadsworth with a big win over Stow-Munroe Falls as the Grizzlies beat the Bulldogs 106-31. Senior Matt Blamble of Wadsworth with victories in the 100, 200 and 400. Sophomore Gabe Szalay scored wins in the 800 and 1600.
