The Medina County Arts Council has announced the schedule of children’s programs for July’s Arts Week Festival running from July 13 through July 18, 2015.” All week long the county will be the site of free arts activities presented by local artists,” according to Chair Sue Becks. These programs lead up to Sunday’s Art-in-the-Park, the major event sponsored by The Medina County Art League on July 19 on Medina Square.With the financial support of the Medina County Community Fund and The Ohio Arts Council’s Arts Access Project, Arts Week programs will be presented for children in Brunswick at the Community Recreation Center or the Library and in Medina at the Gazebo on Public Square. The lunchtime performances are designed to provide both entertainment and learning in the arts for children. The 7:30 p.m. evening concerts around the county are designed for adult and family audiences so children are welcome.

On Friday evening (July 17), “Chalk Art for Children” at 7 p.m. will again precede the regular Friday night Medina Community Band Concert. Children will have the opportunity to draw their own artwork on the sidewalks around the outside of Medina Public Square. The Arts Council will have a table on the Square to distribute the free chalk. The Band begins playing at 8:30 p.m.
