PamCsakyEach Tuesday, the morning show with Matt and Tina features a terrific teacher, an instructor who is making a difference in students’ lives.

This week, we had the pleasure of meeting Wadsworth High School english teacher and drama instructor Pam Csaky. She talked about how hard the kids work to get their lines right and all of the details that go into every production. From make-up and costumes to lighting and directing.

Behind the scenes is where Csaky feels most comfortable, doing stage-related set up and of course, directing her talented students.

We asked her if many of the drama students go on to continuing performing in higher education or for careers and her surprise kind of surprised us.

“Every once in a while a student pursues acting after this, but most of our actors and actresses are doing this just for fun. We have someone wanting to go to school to be a nurse and another to be an engineer so we have diverse desires on the stage.”

You can catch the The Addams Family musical March 19, 20, and 21 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the James R. McIlvaine Performing Arts Center at the high school.  Tickets can be purchased at the door for under $10.

The musical centers around Wednesday Addams being all grown up and in love with a young man from a respectable, normal family.  Morticia does not know until they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents, so the Addams don’t approve.
