Murals coming to Downtown Wadsworth – Wadsworth Community Radio

Wadsworth Community Radio

Main Street Wadsworth has begun a years long process of having murals either attached to or painted onto 16 buildings in the Downtown area. And at this time, the first Downtown Structure scheduled to receive a mural has been changed.

Randy Toddy, with the Main Street Design Committee, says it appears the first mural will be attached to the Sub Station Building, located in the northwest quadrant of Downtown Wadsworth, sometime this summer. Local artist Pauline Grubb will be responsible for attaching the mural to the alley side of the Sub Station Building.

Randy Toddy, with the Main Street Design Committee, says originally, the Subway Building on Main Street was to receive the first mural. But, the nationally known muralist who is contracted to paint the piece, has had his schedule changed and can’t start the project until late summer.

The design committee would like to have at least one mural in place before the weather changes in the fall.
